Hi Dave:

I am a Brewer/Brouwer descendant. Sybrant is my first cousin, 8 times removed. His surname is actually Brouwer. The family name was not anglicized until the Revolutionary war. Those seeking refuge in Canada changed Brouwer to Brewer, a requirement by the British Gov't.

From all that I have found, Sybrant was born in Brooklyn and died there as well. Your dates are right on.
