A 29-year-old man taking soil samples was fatally injured when he was struck by a big rig at a residential construction site on Pearl Street yesterday morning, police said. Authorities identified the victim as Jason Bodine of Corona. The accident happened about 10:20 a.m. "The truck was in slick mud and going up a hill when it slid backwards and struck the man," Sgt. Rodney Vandiver said. Police and the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration were investigating.
